Spring Cleaning Extravaganza!

Filed under: heart, home — fairyguts @ 7:33 am

I used to do my Spring and Fall Cleaning Extravaganzas over two to three days – a major endeavor, but I reserved the right to play MY music at whatever volume I wanted for those days and roommates just had to deal with it!

This year, it’s taking me longer and my music can’t be as loud, since Robin won’t nap through it.  Friends and family are coming over and keeping him occupied and fed for a few consecutive hours through the month so I can devote some uninterrupted time on the traditional cleaning frenzy.

My primary tools are a bottle of diy all-purpose-cleaner, a wet microfiber cloth, a dry microfiber cloth, and a toothbrush.  The light is bad and the space too small for any decent before and after pictures, but I cleaned the bathroom ceiling to floor. And then I took a shower in it!  I LOVE showering in a freshly cleaned bathroom!

  1. I love your bathroom — especially that minty-green color. That might be the most relaxing bathroom I’ve ever seen.

I’m also planning my spring cleaning binge. I’m not sure if I’m going to do it by room or by task (floors, cabinets, etc.). Best of luck to you!

  2. Thanks! I like the color scheme, too – so glad the owners went with that! I debated that myself, but decided that if I did it job by job, no room would ever be *completely* clean since it is going to take me so long to do it. Also, I’d be repeatedly chasing cats, baby, and hubby through the house for each chore while this way, they are just banned from one room for a short period of time. Malley won’t yell at me so much if I do it this way! 😀 In different circumstances, though, I do think that’s the most efficient way to go about it, so good luck if you do get to go that route!

    • That’s a good point about no room being completely clean if it’s done job by job. And I don’t even have a baby to chase! Well, it seems like you’ve got everything organized (papers, supplies, etc.) so that will be a great help. You won’t have to move stacks of things from one place to another. 😀

      • I’m still working on the stacks of paper … there are fewer and fewer, true, but still lots! 😀
